'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

I think four is the perfect age to be at Christmas time.
Four is the age were I first have clear memories of
Christmas including Bogart the big stuffed animal dog.
And this year I hope Evan has lots of wonderful
Christmas memories.

Santa's Magic Key

With no chimney for Santa to come down,
Evan was worried. We found a magic key
to leave at the front door so Santa won't
have any problem visiting our house.

Holiday Express 2007

Riding the Holiday Express (followed by hot chocolate)
has become a family tradition for us. We braved
a windchill that was below 20 degrees and sleet
to enjoy a train ride and the light display.
checking out the lights after our train ride

blizzard!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

We met up with some friends after our train ride
and enjoyed hot chocolate.

Across the miles

Happy Holidays
to my family and friends who live more than
a hop, skip, and a jump away.
And special holiday wishes to my friends Janet and Tanja!
Miss you both!

Is it just me...

or could this sign be worded better?
(This sign is located near our driveway. I have always
had my doubts about what message it is actually
sending people who drive by) ; )

December Kites!

So what if it is 35 degrees outside...
a good kite day is a good kite day.
Right off the bat though, we hit a snag. Or more
accurately a tree.
We had to bust out the backup kite
and then we were back in action.

"Franky"

Evan with his spider buddy "Franky".

"Franky" climbing up Evan's neck.

"Franky" was content to hang out in Evan's hair.
He spent almost an hour there. Even when I took
him out, he would climb right back up.

Project Playhouse Update

Almost done!
The outside needs a little trim and a front door.
This has been a fun family project, but I am ready
for it to be done ; )
Notice the mailbox and address... both are Evan's idea.

Stuck on the Roof

Evan's preschool had a special chapel time on Wednesday. Parents and grandparents were invited to attend. During chapel the youth minister used a model rocket to demonstrate a point he was making about following God's path. He asked if the rocket stays on a straight path where will it eventually go? Lots of the kids got excited and started calling out "Heaven! It will go to heaven!". Evan raised his hand and waited to be called on. Only moments later it became to much to bear and he blurted out to the youth minister that he needed to tell him something.

Evan asked simply... "What if the rocket gets stuck on the roof of the garage?"

Oh, these are precious times! ; )

Who needs a bed?

Apparently Evan doesn't.
I went to check on him about an hour after he went to bed.
Only Evan wasn't in his bed or even in his room.
He was sacked out on the floor of the playroom/guestroom.

First Trophy

Evan got a soccer trophy yesterday. He recently
completed his first season of soccer. This is his very
first trophy and he is very proud. He has carried it
everywhere. Evan kepts showing us how to hold it
properly so we won't drop it. And he has informed us
that babies aren't allowed to touch it.
